"Transmissions" is a massive collection of ambiences, drones, pads and evolving “synth” leads. Every sound was hand-crafted using only organic field and instrument recordings. In fact, no synthesizers were used in the creation of this library at all. We used a variety of custom techniques to blend, warp, shape and layer the sounds, taking them from the realm of the known into that of the very unknown, ranging from simple, clean, tonal leads to compound, constantly moving sound-scapes and textures.
"Systematik" represents a huge new step forward in our quest to build a truly flexible and adaptive sample based atmospheric synth. We wanted a broad collection of richly nuanced flavors with the ability to freely layer, blend and reshape a wide mix of percussive, tonal and textural elements into custom multi-layered dynamic and evolving instruments. We wanted a unified and powerful interface to combine detailed performance and tone shaping controls with a wide pallet of experimental and environmental convolution effects. We wanted a built-in tempo-locking step-sequenced filter and LFO engine that could be adapted to just about any other GUI control parameter on the fly without missing a beat. Ambius 2 is all of that and much more.
One of the driving forces behind the development of our second atmospheric synth collection was the desire for a fresh sound based on real organic recordings that was both super flexible for those of us who like to knob tweak and yet still easy to dive into for those who want it to sound great right out of the box with minimal fuss. It allows you to blur the line between lead and ambient textures and just as easily morph between tight, tuned percussive and smooth, dreamy pads. We’ve created a deep pool of elements to choose from and shape, with a wide palette of sonic flavors ranging from fat lo-fi leads to crisp, complex hi-fi soundscapes. All of the sounds we created for Ambius 2 were sourced from live acoustic instruments and hand-sculpted individually into unique and fully customizable playable concepts.

Many of instruments have been sampled in orchestral halls and large studio rooms, so they have a natural acoustic verb, which allows easy integration into scoring templates.

This library was created with the help of a world-class kazoo ensemble, featuring some of the finest hand-crafted wax paper and plastic wind instruments that money can buy. We gathered together four of the finest kazoo virtuosos in the world to capture this power ensemble collection. We recorded this brilliant sample set in our own private studios.
The idea of the washing machine as a piece of musical equipment, while not unheard of, has been fairly limited in its scope. Generally you’ll see the white cube playing a rudimentary spin cycle beat behind a mediocre guitarist who is only vaguely aware of the naturally occurring music which is constantly present in our modern human environment.
The fragile and inherently musical bell-like aspect of the old incandescent bulb has always fascinated us and we knew that time was running out for this poor little device. That is why we must now bring you Luminabells – the mysterious and angelic essence of the simple ordinary light bulb, captured as a tiny, starry galaxy of humble and yet beautiful sounds. We recorded all manner of sizes and shapes of the old filament style incandescent bulb, lovingly sculpted into a rich collection of tuned and un-tuned percussion, sustaining melodic tones and otherworldly effects.

Glass Beach is all that’s left of a former seaside dumping ground in Fort Bragg, CA. For decades, the townspeople brought their trash and bottles to the sea, dumping it into towering piles those rose high above the surf. After nearly a century, all that remains are the millions of perfectly smooth sea-glass jewels pounded and worn smooth over the many years of relentless sand and tide, covering the water’s edge in the shadow of the ruins of an an old abandoned saw mill complex. These tiny glass beads create a truly unique and peaceful sound as the waves gentle wash over them.
We captured several ocean surf and tide pool ambiences, as well as gentle waterfalls trickling through narrow caves and gullies running down toward the beach from the cliffs above. There’s also useful foley included, with footsteps that can be cut and re-purposed for sand, gravel and even gritty snow in a pinch. We also created a wide variety of tiny percussive elements, using some of the sea glass that migrated to other nearby beaches. Lastly, we used various sound-design tricks to morph the sounds from our journey into tonal and dissonant pads, synth-tones, ambient dreamscapes and disturbing hellscapes.
