The much awaited follow-up to Vir2's top-selling virtual instrument is called Apollo 2: Cinematic Guitars. The most cherished elements of the original Apollo were used to create a completely updated UI with all-new samples. The final product is the new benchmark for sound design, ambient, post-rock, and cinematic productions! There are approximately 36GB of painstakingly recorded shimmering swells, fuzzy drones, playful licks, and 63 chromatically sampled instruments, all recorded with top-of-the-line amps, guitars, and pedals! Apollo 2 gives you the tools to achieve your goals with previously unseen power and ease.

Ambient Designer

The added Ambient Designer patch gives users the power to layer a chorus of guitars, arrange on the fly, effortlessly change pitch, and even switch from major to minor with the simple press of a key. These performances consist of phrases, plucks, swells, bows, pads, white noise, tonal and atonal guitar fx, and so much more! You can utilize the new five-engine layout of Apollo 2 to quickly create interesting guitar atmospheres and performances!

Instruments

Apollo 2 comes with over 60 chromatically sampled guitars taken directly from the Ambient Designer guitar tones! Use the instruments to create soaring original melodies and pair them with the beautiful phrases and sounds of the Ambient Designer for a lush chorus of guitars. Layer up to five separate guitars at once to create deep and immersive sounds, or play them all independently. Vir2 recorded every guitar with three customizable dynamic layers for total expressive control. Push the capabilities of a traditional guitar by using the powerful legato, pad, and step-sequencer features, and so much more!

Go beyond 6 strings

Apollo 2 features a host of powerful sound-shaping tools, including 9 LFO and 6 step sequencer effects that can be applied to each engine to add subtle movement or complex rhythmic effects. Mold each sound using custom AHDSRs and apply legato for incredible lead lines. Reverse and change the playback speed of any performance to completely transform Apollo 2’s guitars into something otherworldly!

Professionally designed presets

Vir2 worked with industry-leading professionals to create over 220 snapshots, serving as inspirational starting points or as quick grab-and-go sounds to speed your productions along. The presets for the Ambient designer and Instrument patches are organized into helpful categories such as swells, plucked, motion, sound design, hybrid, and more for easily getting to the sounds you’re looking for!
