The Resonance of Early Electronic Music
Gong Amp brings a radical amplifier concept from 1932 into today’s plugin world. Inspired by Maurice Martenot’s Métallique diffuseur, which replaced a traditional speaker cone with a gong, it delivers shimmering resonances and brilliant overtones that shaped the early days of electronic sound.
Developed in collaboration with Berlin composer Hainbach and modeled after the rare Eowave Resonator Metallik, Gong Amp combines convolution processing, physical modeling and feedback systems to capture the responsiveness of the original. Chains, a damping pillow and extended modulation options expand its sonic range far beyond the historic design.
