From Your First Chord to a Finished Cue

Hollywood Scoring Tools gets you from the first idea to a complete arrangement faster. Instead of starting with an empty session, hunting through patches, and building complex templates, you can begin with a fully playable musical Score right away.

More than 300 composer-crafted Scores combine instruments, patterns, dynamics, mixing, and effects into ready-to-play setups. Play a chord and the entire arrangement follows your harmony. Change the chords, shape the intensity with the mod wheel, and switch between different sections in real time.

With more than 1,200 arrangements and 164 instruments from EastWest and Sonuscore, Hollywood Scoring Tools covers everything from full orchestra and cinematic synths to band instruments, world sounds, choirs, and percussion.

Hollywood Scoring Tools GUI

Start with a Score, Not an Empty Template

Each Score loads up to ten instruments complete with patterns, dynamics, and effects. The arrangements are already orchestrated and balanced, so you can start playing immediately, explore ideas, and turn them into your own cue.

Hollywood Scoring Tools does not compose the music for you. You control the chords, harmony, and musical direction. Every Score includes four arrangements - Intro, Main A, Main B, and Outro - which can be switched live via keyswitches. A dedicated Ending function brings the arrangement to a musical finish.

Built by Composers - Not Algorithms

The Scores are not randomly generated combinations. Instrumentation, patterns, dynamics, and effects were carefully created by professional composers from the EastWest and Sonuscore teams.

The concept builds on the idea behind Sonuscore's The Score and expands it with EastWest instruments, the Opus engine, and deeper options for performance, mixing, and arrangement.

Find - Get to the Right Idea Fast

The Find page gives you access to more than 300 Scores across 14 genres and 12 styles. Filter by genre, style, time signature, or name, save favorites, and use performance notes to quickly find the right starting point for your cue.

Shape - Make the Score Your Own

In Shape, all ten instrument slots can be customized individually. Swap instruments and adjust volume, pan, octave, and reverb send for each layer.

Min and Max controls determine how strongly each instrument responds to the mod wheel, allowing you to move an entire arrangement from subtle and intimate to big and powerful with a single gesture. Each slot also includes a 3-band EQ and three insert FX.

Play - Bring Your Arrangements to Life

On the Play page, every instrument slot has its own arpeggiator. Note order, rate, velocity, and step sequences can all be edited individually, making it easy to reshape existing patterns or create your own movement.

Multiple rhythmic divisions are supported along with 4/4, 3/4, 6/8, 5/8, and 7/8 time signatures. The four arrangements within each Score can be switched directly from the keyboard and integrated seamlessly into your performance.

164 Instruments Across Five Sonic Worlds

  • Orchestra - 57 instruments: Strings, Brass, Woodwinds, Percussion, Mallets, Harp, Piano, and Celesta

  • Synths - 43 instruments: Pads, Basses, Hits, Leads, and Ambience FX

  • World - 34 instruments: Plucked, Bowed, Metallophones, Winds, and Percussion

  • Band - 20 instruments: Drums, Guitars, Bass, and Keys

  • Choirs & Percussion - 10 instruments: Choir and Percussion

The performances themselves are equally detailed. Short articulations use up to nine round robins, sustained instruments include recorded releases, and selected legato instruments feature true legato. Articulations are loaded as individual instruments, making it fast and easy to swap them within a Score.

Take It Straight into Your DAW

Once your arrangement is where you want it, you can drag the performance directly into your DAW as a multitrack MIDI file. Each instrument slot is exported to its own MIDI track, giving you complete freedom to edit, rearrange, or revoice individual parts with other instruments and libraries in your setup.

The included instruments can also be loaded individually outside the Scoring Engine in Opus and played like conventional virtual instruments.
