Midnight: Trumpet

Characterful Lead Trumpet with Expressive Legato

Midnight: Trumpet is a solo trumpet library for Kontakt designed for powerful lead lines, expressive melodies, and bold brass passages. Recorded at Warm Studios in Texas, the library combines a full, direct tone with an extensive selection of playable articulations and a flexible legato workflow.

The instrument was performed by Matthew Collins on a vintage Bach 72 trumpet with a Bob Reeves 43M mouthpiece. Two microphone positions, Close and Far, provide both a direct, present sound and a more spacious perspective.

Flexible Articulations and Legato

Midnight: Trumpet includes Slur Legato, Tongued Legato, and Gliss Legato along with a wide range of characteristic brass articulations. These include short and long Bend Attacks, Bend Falls, Gliss Falls, Doits, Shakes, and short and long Taper Attacks. Automatic Tongued and Open Release triggers further enhance the natural playing feel.

Articulations can be switched using velocity and latch keys, while a visual Articulation Indicator shows the currently active playing style. Two Master patches provide a choice between natural intonation and a more tightly tuned version.
