Modeled on a classic German mastering compressor
The NEU-473A is a software recreation of the vintage German U473A VCA compressor, originally developed for mastering, broadcasting and vinyl cutting. It combines independent compressor, limiter and expander sections for flexible dynamics processing and tonal shaping. The processor is particularly suited for emphasizing the midrange, controlling transients and adding vintage character to individual tracks, buses or complete mixes. The plugin is based on detailed component-level modeling of an original hardware unit, including its transformers and nonlinear circuit behavior.
