Atmospheric guitars in a historic Scottish church
Panorama Whitekirk captures electric and semi-hollow guitars inside St Mary’s Church in Whitekirk, Scotland. The almost 900-year-old building offers two contrasting acoustic spaces: a warm and focused ambience beneath the curved wooden ceiling of the nave and a much larger, more expansive reverb in the historic stone chancel.
Recorded through two guitar amps and an extensive pedalboard setup, the library covers pristine cleans, washed-out fuzz, granular textures, and atmospheric, reverb-soaked sounds. It is ideal for post-rock, shoegaze, cinematic scoring, ambient music, and experimental productions.

Move through the space
Multiple microphones positioned throughout the church were combined into two stereo room mixes. These can be blended seamlessly in real time using the mod wheel.
A visual plan of the church lets you move the virtual listening position through the building, allowing the room character to shift naturally from the tighter wooden nave to the spacious stone chancel.
Creative effects
The effects section includes a specially tuned Plate reverb plus two atmospheric processors: Pink combines slowly modulated reverb with granular-style processing, while Blue creates a shimmering, highly diffused ambience with a long decay.
Additional effects combinations captured from the pedalboard used during the recording sessions are also included.
