Polarity | Modular combines the organic warmth of analogue synthesizers with the flexibility of modern granular synthesis. Its dual engine is built on 250 exclusive waveforms crafted by British synth pioneer Ian Boddy – recorded using iconic modular systems such as the Roland System 100M, Serge Modular, and the Buchla Music Easel.

With 250 presets, full NKS2 integration, and the ability to load your own samples, Polarity | Modular offers a wide-ranging sound design platform ideal for electronic music, ambient, scoring, and experimental production.

The Engine

The main page features four powerful macro knobs that shape both granular layers deeply, enabling organic and sometimes unpredictable modulation. The Grain Edit panel provides control over scan, jitter, grain size, LFOs, and tuning – separately for each element.

The Synth Edit panel offers classic modules such as amp, filter, and LFO, each independently available for A and B. All key parameters can be routed to the macro controls and synced to DAW tempo.

The extensive FX section includes two freely configurable insert chains and a high-quality IR reverb with dual sends.

Sample Browser

All sound sources created by Ian Boddy are organised into seven categories and can be auditioned directly within the context of each preset. Thanks to the consistent recording setup, samples can be layered or exchanged seamlessly.
