Spatial Sound Beyond Traditional Panning
PsychoPan by W.A. Production is a psychoacoustic spatial audio plugin for positioning sounds in width, elevation, depth, and distance within a standard stereo signal. Developed with sound designer Pan Athen, its HyperSpatial™ Framework uses level, timing, phase, and spectral cues to create spatial effects that translate across headphones, studio monitors, TV, and theater systems.
The central XY Pad provides direct control over pan and perceived elevation. The dedicated Zone Module adds front-to-back positioning, while Cinesafe Guidelines assist with precise placement for film and TV production.
The Perceptual Distance Engine creates everything from ultra-close sounds to distant events. Five dedicated modules control level attenuation, proximity, stereo width, distant diffusion, and low-frequency energy.
