The FELT PIANO EKX is a meticulously sampled, felt-dampened upright piano designed for EZkeys 2 – perfect for mellow singer-songwriter tracks, folk, acoustic pop, and even softer rock productions. If you're searching for a piano sound that's earthy, warm, and rich in character, this is it.

Recorded using a classic technique where a layer of felt is placed between the hammers and the strings, this piano offers a much softer attack and a more intimate, warm tone compared to a traditional upright. Captured in a moderately small room, the natural ambiance adds a visceral, close-up feel to the sound.

To preserve every detail of its tonal character, one mono and three carefully chosen stereo mic pairs were used during recording. These microphone setups were utilized across a wide range of presets – from delicate, subtle and nuanced to fuller, richer textures, all while retaining that signature velvety touch. Also included is a custom MIDI library tailored to the instrument, providing inspiring starting points for your own compositions.
