A sound design instrument for creating horror cues, suspenseful rhythms, unsettling textures and cinematic transitions.
A Toolkit for Horror and Suspense
Psychosis by Heavyocity is a sound design instrument for creating horror, suspense and tension in film, games and other media. Its sound library combines recordings of acoustic instruments and unconventional sound sources, including koto, sarangi, music boxes, gongs, thunder sheets and resonating metals, processed to produce unsettling textures and rhythms.
Two dedicated engines provide different approaches to sound creation. The Psychosis Designer combines three channels of sustains, textures and atonal rhythms with modulation and effects, while the Psychosis Menu allows individual sounds to be mapped across the keyboard. Presets include stings, transitions, rhythmic patterns and complete cue-building combinations.
