Morphing Rotor Effect
Motor is a plugin effect that uses side chaining to combine two signals in new and unexpected ways. Feed it any pair of sounds and they begin to orbit, morph and collide. Shape subtle transitions, carve rhythmic cuts, or move signals across the stereo field with precision and character.
Inspired by the Crystal Palace built by Dave Young for the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, Motor reimagines a historic sound tool for modern production. A variable waveshape LFO replaces the original mechanical system, enabling smooth morphing, sharply chopped textures and even audio rate modulation with ring modulation like artifacts. With added vibrato, panner and analog like sound shaping, Motor becomes a flexible rotary effect that turns simple material into evolving motion.
