Sounds:
A soundbank seperate into staccato and legato with the categories „high“, „mid“ and „low intensity“. In there you‘ll find folders like „Coolphunk“, „Harlem“ or „Groovemaster“ and they even keep what they promise. Each phrase is served with the classical orchestra (saxophone, trambone, trumpet, and so on). Besides that the library also includes an extra section with chords, swells and extra notes. The whole material is perfectly recorded and sound like the above named bands (Tower of Power, Earth, Wind & Fire, and others).
Conclusion:

Conclusion
Horn Section is a new enrichment for the Liquid Instrument Series. Instead of postulated horns you‘ll find find a wide spectrum of woodwinds and brasses, tailored for the arrangment of complete horn sections. But no alternative to the solo brasses Liquid Trumpet and Saxophone.
As expected also this library convinces with the quality of sound. All licks can be changed in tempo and scale and thanks to the Melodyne-Algorithm the outcome is still on the highest level. The stability of this program is also creditable. We experienced no difficulties on our system (Mac G5 DUAL 1,8 GHz PPC, OSX 10.4.10, Host: Cubase 4.1).
Within the 600 mb library you‘ll find almost everything you need for a complete horn section. Of course you could also play some chords with an usual sampler but you‘ll never achieve the liquid sound experience given with this plug-in.

Sounds: Eine Soundbank (ca. 700 MB), unterteilt in Staccato und Legato, mit den Kategorien "High", "Mid" und "Low Intensity". Da finden sich dann so vielversprechende Bezeichnungen wie "Coolphunk", "Harlem" oder "Groovemaster", die überdies noch halten, was sie versprechen. Jede Phrase wird in der klassischen Besetzung serviert (siehe oben), zum Teil unisono, zum Teil als Akkordphrase. Zum Abschluss der geblasenen Herrlichkeit gibt´s dann noch eine Schublade voller Extras mit Glissandi, Chords, Swells und Extra Notes. Das gesamte Material wurde erstklassig und live eingetutet, da klingen dann wirklich die oben angeführten Bands durch.
Fazit: Da blas mir einer nen Storch - an diese Horn Section kommt dank Liquid Player und erstklassigem Einspielergebnis keine normalsterbliche Sampling-CD heran. Funk- und Soulproduzenten ohne eigenes Gebläse schlagen sofort zu.

Außer mit den Möglichkeiten echte Instrumente zu recorden ist es fast unmöglich einen guten Brass Sound aus seinem Computer zu bekommen. Sagen wir eher, das war es zumindest mal. Liquid Horn Section macht einen weit besseren Job als die meisten Synths und Sample Libraries.
