Für die Sammlung Mongolian Voices - Ancient Phrases griff Sonuscore auf die schamanischen Klänge des traditionellen mongolischen Gesangs zurück. Die Library erforscht die eher sphärischen Orte der Gesänge und ist in drei Abschnitte unterteilt: Female, Male, und Throat. Die männlichen und weiblichen Teile basieren auf dem traditionellen Langgesang oder Urtiin duu, einer sehr alten Kunst, die laut von Berggipfeln gesungen wird, wobei jede lange, langgezogene Silbe die tiefen, riesigen, offenen Räume der mongolischen Steppe beschwört.

Das mongolische Khoomei ist eine weitere bekannte Form des Kehlkopfgesangs, bei der Zirkularatmung und kehlige Vibrationen eingesetzt werden, um einen unheimlichen, weltfremden Klang zu erzeugen. Wenn man ihn zum ersten Mal hört, beschwört er Bilder aus fernen Science-Fiction- oder Fantasy-Reichen oder prähistorischen Kulten herauf.

Male. Female, and Throat

The phrases are divided into three categories: Male, Female, and Male Throat. The Male and Female categories are composed of Urtiin duu singing. Translated as “long song”, this 2,000-year-old form of singing takes an honored place in Mongolian society and is often sung at festivals and events. The singing evokes vast, wide-open spaces and transcends time.

The Male Throat category is for the mystical guttural voice that involves circular breathing and can produce resonant harmonies through 2 or 3 notes sung at the same time. A skill of voice that few in the world possess.
