Beim Pianet T werden die Stimmzungen nicht angeschlagen, sondern durch NASA-patentierte rosafarbene Plastiksaugnäpfe in Schwingung versetzt, die sie losreißen und vibrieren lassen. Kleine Spulen, ähnlich wie Gitarrentonabnehmer, wandeln diese Vibrationen in elektrische Klänge um. Diese komplexen Klänge bestehen aus zahlreichen Sinuswellen, und für das Pianet T-Modell sind manchmal mehr als 100 Sinuswellen erforderlich, um sein charakteristisches Klangprofil zu erzeugen. Um die Leistung zu optimieren, ohne die CPU zu überlasten, haben wir die Formel des indischen Mathematikers Bhāskara I. aus dem siebten Jahrhundert weiterentwickelt.
