This can be considered the best string ensemble available right now. The learning curve is not low, but with time, you can achieve a more realistic sound than before. The *** is really quite ugly, but the beautiful sound makes up for the lack of visual appeal.

I don't believe there is a more expressively manipulable tool for ensemble strings on the market. The other side of this double-edged sword is that it will sound very artificial if you fail to put that expression into your tracks (whether via careful use of automation envelopes or your own real-time performance, or a combination of both). Basically, it's more work than a typical sample-based string library to get a great sound, but such flexibility means that you can get the nuances into the performance that YOU want, rather than being limited or creatively steered by the performances baked into the samples of a kontakt library. For me, this is perfect and brilliant, and I am yet to find anything better. As a past user of some of the 1.0 SWAM instruments (which I also loved), I was actually very surprised and impressed by the interface and its features, particularly the staging, where you can position each section\\instance within your chosen simulated room / acoustic space. All in all a great and powerful tool that I absolutely love. Just know what you're getting yourself into. Watch some demonstration\\tutorial videos on youtube which show and explain how you will need to control this instrument to get good results. It's not going to be for everyone, but for those of us who have been longing for a more flexibly expressive ensemble strings instrument and who are ** of being compositionally limited or influenced by the way samples were performed, this is (along with the solo instruments, not included here) the best thing out there that I know of.
