Soundiron hat mit Linealen und Maßbändern experimentiert und bemerkt, welche wunderbaren Schwingungen und Vibrationen sie erzeugen können. Wenn Sie ein Lineal über die Kante einer flachen Oberfläche spannen, so dass es frei schwingen kann, kann es einen musikalischen Ton mit einer Frequenz erzeugen, die proportional zu der Strecke ist, die es auf und ab schwingen kann. Je länger der Abschnitt des Lineals ist, der frei schwingen kann, desto tiefer ist der Ton und desto länger kann er gehalten werden. Wenn Sie das Lineal weiter auf die Oberfläche schieben und die Länge des frei schwingenden überhängenden Segments verringern, erhöht sich die Tonhöhe und die Dauer des Tons verkürzt sich. Winzige Anpassungen können zu großen Sprüngen führen, so dass Sie Millimeter für Millimeter vorgehen müssen, um eine breite musikalische Tonleiter zu erzeugen.

Weil Soundiron etwas seltsam sind, gingen sie in die Garage und schnappten sich ihre zwei bestklingenden Lineale und ein paar Maßbänder und machten sich dann an die Arbeit, um eine Library zu erfassen. Sie sampelten jeden Zentimeter mit Millimeterpräzision, wobei sie fein kalibrierte Mikrofone und makellose Vorverstärker verwendeten, um auch die kleinsten Details einzufangen. Soundiron nahm 30 Töne mit dem 6-Zoll-Lineal (15,24 cm) und 38 Töne auf dem 12-Zoll-Lineal (30,48 cm) auf, plus perkussive Taps, Rasseln und Drops. Soundiron nahm auch eine Vielzahl von Klangeffekten und perkussiven Artikulationen mit ihren 25-Fuß- (3m) und 10-Fuß- (7,62m) Maßbändern auf, um das Konzept etwas moderner zu gestalten.

The Kontakt interface includes a suite of automation-ready sound-shaping controls to give you total creative flexibility. You have control over swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch (coarse & fine), articulation switching, cross-fading and layering, and so much more. Soundiron have also included 20 unique sound-designed custom FX presets to give you lots of creative options.

This library comes with an adaptable LFO system, with selectable LFO shape, modulation target parameter, speed, intensity, tempo-syncing and fade-in time. You can also apply your choice of 12 lowpass, high-pass and FX filters, with assignable modulation targets such as velocity, modwheel, expression, after-touch, key position and step-sequencer table control. The customizable arpeggiator offers a velocity table and control over arp direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration. They’ve included a key and scale lock system to constrain your notes to common scales and keys for easy melodic composition and live performance.

The interface is rounded-out by their modular FX rack panel, with 18 different DSP effect modules that you can assign in any of 10 available slots, in any order that you wish. You’ll find classic phaser, flanger, delay, distortion, amp and cab simulators, compressors, EQ, rotator and so much more. The Reverb effect includes our favorite convolution reverb impulse responses, including 99 different rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor environments, plus another 40 custom FX impulses to radically transform the sound and open up whole new worlds of musical possibility.
