Get it! Seriously.

If you’re into cinematic libraries, or even just organic soundscapes and pads, get this. No question.
It’s just an all around high quality, fun to play, easy to use library that just sounds incredible.
I’ve always loved ambient pads and sounds, the flutes in here are very awesome. The pads are so smooth and lush, and the drones can be movie scenes on their own.
I give this library 5 out of 5 subs, it’s really great and really offers an alternative to a lot of the “me too” cinematic libraries out here. I like that it doesn’t go with the “synthetic” standard many seem to follow, and because of that, the sound it brings is refreshing and unique.
I feel like I’ve waited to long to checkout what Eduardo Tarilonte is doing, but I’m glad I did…I absolutely love his stuff! I will definitely be looking forward to more from him.

VERDICT
Epic World has got everything you need to make a professional soundscape production. It is very versatile; pretty much any genre is covered. The patches are programmed very well, and the sound-sculpting tools it comes with gives users a ton of tweaking possibilities. If you´re a producer who´s looking for an instrument for quick results, many quality sounds, and one that will invite you to start composing, then Epic World is worth considering. It is not cheap, but it is highly recommended.

Für den Einsatz in den Bereichen Vertonung und atmosphärische Musik findet man umfangreiches, fantasievolles und inspirierendes Klangmaterial in hoher Qualität. Dabei wird die Library vom Engine-2-Player mit schnellen Ladezeiten und einfacher Bedienung optimal unterstützt.

Eindrucksvolle Klanglandschaften erwarten den Käufer des Sample-Instruments Epic World, die den treffenden Untertitel „Cinematic Landscapes“ trägt. Das Soundmaterial der 7 GB großen Sammlung zeigt sich mal himmlisch, mal düster, mal sanft und mal kraftvoll, aber immer inspirierend. Als Klangquellen kamen exotische Instrumente, darunter Saiten-, Flöten- und Blasinstrumente, verschiedenste Trommeln und Percussion-Instrumente, Glocken und die menschliche Stimme sowie synthetische Klänge zum Einsatz. Den Schwerpunkt der Kollektion bilden Drones und Flächen, von denen sich viele aus bis zu acht verschiedenen Layern zusammensetzen. Durch die Automation der Layer-Lautstärken können Sie auf komfortable Weise Klangvariationen erzielen. Auch hier zunächst zur Engine: Die Version 2.0 läuft im Vergleich zur ersten Version, mit welcher ich beim Test zu “Miroslav String Ensembles” so meine Probleme hatte, absolut rund. Die Performance ist wirklich gut und die Ladezeiten sind extrem kurz. Engine ist nun endlich eine ausgereifte Plattform für Samples. Abstürze hatte ich unter Cubase 6 keine einzigen während der Testphase.

Nun zum Content von “Epic World”: Die Sounds klingen, um es mit meinen Worten zu beschreiben, wie handverlesen. Es gibt weder langweilige Ausreißer nach unten noch qualitative Patzer. Neben den Dronen und Pads befinden sich auch unter der Instruments und Voices echte Perlen. Gerne hätte die Liste der letztgenannten noch länger sein können aber es muss ja auch noch Luft für ein Update oder eine 2. Version da sein. Die beworbene “Seele” ist in vielen der Sounds zu finden. Sie enthalten immer den richtigen Anteil “Leben”, der sich durch den enthaltenen akustischen Content erklärt. Wie Eduardo es allerdings schafft, dass sich viele Sounds wunderbar über die Zeit entfalten, obwohl man nur eine Taste drückt, lassen wir mal sein Geheimnis bleiben. Man spürt jedenfalls die Leidenschaft, mit der er den Content zusammengestellt hat. Es ist ein Genuss, sich durch die einzelnen Presets zu hören und mit ihnen zu experimentieren. Der Engine-Player macht seinen Job wirklich gut und muss sich meiner Meinung nach funktionell und performancemäßig nicht hinter Kontakt verstecken. Angefangen bei der schönen Oberfläche der “Quick Edit Page” mit den einfach zu automatisierenden Slidern, die auch gerne mal Funktionen wie “Reverse” übernehmen, ohne sich durch umständliche Menüs hangeln zu müssen bis hin zum Origami Hall, welcher vielen Sounds erst die Weite verleiht, die sie vermitteln sollen: Alles richtig gemacht und Hut ab vor “Epic World”.

FAZIT: Ein schönes Geschenk das Best Service hier fast pünktlich zum Valentinstag den Musikern und Musikproduzenten ans Herz legt, es sind zwar nur 10 Klangwelten bzw. Klänge enthalten, diese bieten aber einen sehr guten Eindruck über die Leistungsfähigkeit von ENGINE 2 wie natürlich auch über die klanglichen Möglichkeiten des von Eduardo Tarilonte erstellte Samplepacks: Epic World – Cinematic Landscapes. Ganz besonders gut hat mir die ägyptische Flöte gefallen aber auch die Pad und drone sounds sind hervorragend, Spitzenreiter war natürlich das Brüllen der Orgs, ich meine die Sympathiker aus den Filmen bei denen es um einen Ring ging…..
