In this EZX for EZdrummer 3 and Superior Drummer 3, session drummer Jeremy Stacey (Sheryl Crow, Robbie Williams, Sia, Ryan Adams) selected four kits from his extensive collection – each capturing a distinct sonic identity and a defining moment in the evolution of drums. Spanning the 1960s through the 1990s, it delivers the unmistakable character of each era in detail, from tight, muffled and snappy to open, loud and thunderously big.

Teaming up with his brother Paul – a seasoned engineer, producer and instrumentalist with credits including Oasis and The Black Crowes – the sessions took place at Livingston Studios in London, UK. The studio’s transparent acoustic character provided the ideal environment to focus entirely on the drums. To further highlight each kit’s personality, the Stacey brothers used period-correct gear and era-specific mic placements, giving each kit a tailored, authentic treatment.

Alongside the kits, this EZX includes a dedicated set of grooves for each era as well as a wide range of mix-ready presets. These offer immediate, production-ready sounds or can be further shaped using the built-in macros.

From the warm, round and subtle tones of the 1960s, through the open and fusion-tinged sound of the 1970s, the bombastic stadium energy of the 1980s, to the raw, gritty edge of the 1990s, this EZX delivers not just curated drum kits, but a snapshot of drum sound history.

Tone, character and personality don’t begin with a room or a piece of gear – they begin with the kits, the drummer, and how you shape them in your mix. This EZX provides the kits and the drummer. The rest is up to you.
