Ancient Greek Winds ist eine Sammlung von neun akribisch gesampelten traditionellen griechischen Holzblasinstrumenten, die die Atmosphäre der klassischen hellenistischen Epoche wiedergeben. Diese Gruppe restaurierter Artefakte umfasst Aulos-Flöten mit einfachem und doppeltem Resonanzrohr von Bass bis Alto, sowie Muschelhörner, Salpinx-Hörner aus Messing, Panflöten und Plagiaulos. Jedes Instrument ist komplett spielbar, mit Sustains, Staccatos, echtem Legato, dynamischen Expressionen und Effekten. Ancient Greek Winds ist die perfekte melodische Ergänzung zu Soundiron's Ancient Greek Strings und Ancient Greek Percussion Libraries. Jedes Instrument wurde von der in Athen ansässigen historischen Forschungsgruppe LyrΑvlos unter der Leitung von Panagiotis Stefos mit zeitgetreuen Methoden, Baumaterialien und Werkzeugen handgefertigt. Diese aus Holz, Schilfrohr, Muschelschalen und Bronze gefertigten authentischen musikalischen Schätze erforschen die ferne musikalische Vergangenheit und dürften wohl bei bronzezeitlichen Musikern vor über 2.500 Jahren vorzufinden gewesen sein.

Jedes Instrument wurde von Produzent John Valasis detailgenau aufgenommen, mit Round-Robin-Variationen und mehreren Dynamiken und Voicings. The Kontakt interface includes a suite of automation-ready sound-shaping controls to give you total creative flexibility. You have control over swell, attack, release, offset, vibrato, filter, pitch (coarse & fine), articulation switching, cross-fading and layering, and so much more. Soundiron have also included 20 unique sound-designed custom FX presets to give you lots of creative options.

This library comes with an adaptable LFO system, with selectable LFO shape, modulation target parameter, speed, intensity, tempo-syncing and fade-in time. You can also apply your choice of 12 lowpass, high-pass and FX filters, with assignable modulation targets such as velocity, modwheel, expression, after-touch, key position and step-sequencer table control. The customizable arpeggiator offers a velocity table and control over arp direction, timing, swing, randomization and duration. Soundiron have included a key and scale lock system to constrain your notes to common scales and keys for easy melodic composition and live performance.

The interface is rounded-out by Soundiron's modular FX rack panel, with 18 different DSP effect modules that you can assign in any of 10 available slots, in any order that you wish. You’ll find classic phaser, flanger, delay, distortion, amp and cab simulators, compressors, EQ, rotator and so much more. The Reverb effect includes our favorite convolution reverb impulse responses, including 99 different rooms, halls, chambers and outdoor environments, plus another 40 custom FX impulses to radically transform the sound and open up whole new worlds of musical possibility. Ancient Greek Winds was recorded by John Valasis. John is a Greek-born composer, producer and sound designer. From his Athens based studio, he delivers scoring, foley and sound design services for many local and international clients. John's clientele includes prestigious brands like Native Instruments, Ableton, Soundiron, Virgin, Amazon Prime Video, Vice Magazine and BBC. John is also roster of Ninja Tune's imprint Just Isn't Music, alongside artists like Amon Tobin, Bonobo, Flying Lotus and The Cinematic Orchestra.
