Ample China Traditional Percussion (ACTP) brings an extensive ensemble of traditional Chinese percussion instruments into your studio. From deep drums and gongs to cymbals, wooden percussion, opera instruments and vocals, the library covers a broad range of authentic sounds from bass to treble.

In total, ACTP includes 19 instrument slots with 50 percussion instruments and around 15 GB of sample content. Recorded under the artistic direction of Jiao Shanlin with Zheng Yu and the Gufeng Percussion Ensemble, the library features multiple articulations, velocity layers and sample round robins for dynamic and expressive performances.

From Powerful Drum Ensembles to Detailed Percussion

ACTP includes Drum Ensembles, Solo Drums, Pitched Barrel Drums, Cymbals, Gongs, Singing Bowls, Temple Bowls, Bells, Opera Percussion, Wood Blocks, Rattle Drum, vocals and more. Drum Ensembles and Solo Drums provide up to 13 articulations including Center, Rim, Rimshot, Slap, Rolls and several muting techniques, while instruments such as gongs and cymbals also offer multiple playing styles.

The Drum Ensemble was captured with an extensive multi-microphone setup offering up to 22 microphone channels, while even smaller instruments were recorded from several positions. The Dual-Layer Mixer combines instrument and microphone tracks while adapting to the different recording setups of each instrument. Shared overhead microphones help maintain a consistent sonic character across the entire library.

Flexible Performance with Legato and Riffer 4

Legato technology developed for Ample Sound's wind and bowed instruments has also been integrated into the percussion engine. Gongs, Cymbals, Singing Bowls, Temple Bowls and Bells can transition smoothly between different expressive playing techniques, while ADSR, pitch, velocity curves and other parameters can be adjusted independently for each instrument.

Riffer 4 brings different percussion instruments and articulations together in one intuitive workspace. Single hits, rolls, dynamics and instrument-specific techniques can be edited directly, while similarly structured instrument slots make it easy to switch sounds without having to rewrite existing MIDI patterns.
