Traditional, expressive, and full of character: The oud is one of the most distinctive instruments in Middle Eastern music. For centuries, its unmistakable sound has shaped melodies and rhythms from North Africa to the Mediterranean and is also considered a predecessor of the European lute.

Arabic E-Oud brings the characteristic sound of an electric oud directly into your productions. Together with Syrian musician and oud virtuoso Bassam Ayoub, the instrument was recorded with a particular focus on authentic playing techniques, expression, and natural dynamics. Its built-in pickup gives the oud a direct and distinctive character that connects traditional Middle Eastern sounds with modern productions.

From delicately ornamented melodies and fast runs to rhythmic accompaniment, 25 articulations, multiple velocity layers, and up to 16 round robins give you the flexibility to create lively and convincing E-Oud performances. Arabic E-Oud is equally at home in traditional music, film scores, world music, pop, and modern productions.

Authentic Performances with Microtunings

An important part of the characteristic oud sound lies in traditional tuning systems. Arabic E-Oud therefore includes an extensive selection of integrated microtunings with Arabic, Persian, Turkish, and other tunings. Individual notes can be adjusted and custom presets saved, allowing you to create authentic Middle Eastern scales and Maqam performances directly within the instrument.

Direct Workflow in Engine Player

In Engine Player, all essential functions are directly accessible. Latch and Hold keyswitches let you switch flexibly between articulations while playing, making it easy to incorporate ornaments, tremolos, trills, legato, and portamento techniques intuitively into your performance.

For additional character, Arabic E-Oud features integrated Tube and Amp Distortion. Portamento length can be controlled via the mod wheel, while the integrated MIDI Songs demonstrate typical phrases and playing techniques and provide inspiration for your own musical ideas.
