Electri6ity is an epic electric guitar virtual instrument containing the most advanced, detailed, and versatile collection of electric guitars ever made in a virtual instrument. Electri6ity contains eight of the most famous and distinguished guitar tones from the history of the instrument: the Strat, Tele, P90, Les Paul, Rickenbacker, Danelectro Lipstick, ES335, and L4. More than 24,000 24-bit samples were taken of each guitar. Three pickup options (front, rear, and mixed) are available on every guitar. Electri6ity also utilizes the most advanced scripting to date, including the revolutionary Articulation Morphing Technology (A.M.T.) and Velocity Morphing Technology (V.M.T.), allowing for the seamless morphing from dead mute to sustain or from soft to loud. Advanced string and fretboard positioning is performed by artificial intelligence which adapts to your playing. Play fluid lines in real time using the legato engine, play chords using the chord detection engine which understands almost two thousand different chords, easily double-track, do unison bends, strum, pick, trill, tremolo pick, slide...all of this is built into the Electri6ity engine and full editing control is given over each of these parameters.

All samples in Electri6ity are recorded clean - a direct input from the guitar. Use Electri6ity´s built-in multieffects (phaser, flanger, chorus, reverb, and delay), Screamer module, and amp simulation (British, Classic, Clean, Jazz, Metal, Modern, and Rock) to make the sound come alive, or use your own guitar amps or simulators to multiply the possibilities.

Fazit zum Vir2 Electri6ty Testbericht

Alles in Allem macht dieses virtuelle Instrument den Eindruck, dass die Entwickler einfach richtig mitgedacht haben. Double Bendings? Kein Problem – einfach eine kleine bzw. große Sekunde Anschlagen und den Pitchbend nach oben regeln. Triller, Hammerings, Ghostnotes, Harmonics (Flagelett-Töne), „Chucka-Chuckas“, Slides des aktuellen Akkordgriffes um einen Bund nach oben/unten – alles ist vorhanden, alles kann klanglich abgerufen werden.
Für professionelle Produktionen im Musikbereich wird sicherlich eher ein Studiogitarrist eingeladen als der dieses Plugin programmiert. Anders könnte das wiederum bei Filmkomponisten aussehen, die vielleicht Hintergrundmusik für Videos machen. Diese werden sehr zufrieden mit dem Sound sein können.

Electri6ity bietet eine sehr gute Auswahl an E-Gitarren für alle Stilrichtungen. Es wurde reger Gebrauch von Scripting gemacht, was eine echte Erleichterung für den User ist. Man hat sich sehr schnell mit dem Programm und dessen Möglichkeiten vertraut gemacht auch ohne stundenlang das Handbuch zu wälzen. Für mich bietet es schon out-of-the-Box einen sehr guten Sound. Ohne die Maus anzufassen kann man per KS einen anderen Spielmodus auswählen und so auf einer Spur Begleitung und Solospiel kombinieren. Obwohl ich schon sehr gut mit virtuellen Gitarren ausgestattet war, ist Electri6ity eine echte Bereicherung und künftig meine erste Wahl für Solo-(E-)Gitarren und individuelle Begleitungen. Der Preis geht absolut in Ordnung (siehe auch mein o. g. Vergleich zu den Musiclab Produkten). Daher erhält Electri6ity von mir einen verdienten Redaktionstipp. Jetzt fehlt nur noch der akustische Vertreter von vir2. Bitte mit einer ebenso exzellenten Auswahl an Akustik Gitarren

Fazit

Ein Hammer-Teil, was Vir2 da an den Start gebracht hat. Der erste, zweite und dritte Eindruck stimmt! Die 27GB Speicherplatz sind für die acht Gitarren gut angelegt. Die Dokumentation ist vorbildlich: Ein gedrucktes Handbuch in Farbe, das man gerne in die Hand nimmt und darin auch recht fix findet, was man sucht. Ein Mini-Poster mit allen Keyswitches zum Aufhängen im Studio wäre der absolute Traum gewesen.
Wer kaum Gitarre spielt oder auch sehr gut - viele mir persönlich bekannte gute Gitarristen nutzen solche Tools - liegt mit dieser Software goldrichtig, denn der Sound ist wandelbar, von Pop über Rock bis Metal, Funk, Jazz ... nahezu so flexibel, wie eine echte Gitarre. Ich mag es!
