Bring Energy to your Mix

SSL GateVerb is a non-linear gated reverb that adds space and depth to your tracks while maintaining a clean mix. Its intuitive interface allows for quick and precise reverb shaping, ideal for both tight drum tracks and expansive soundscapes.

Unlike traditional reverbs that mimic natural spaces, non-linear reverb creates evolving decay patterns for unique, intense effects. Originating in the 1970s, it's been used in iconic tracks by artists like Kate Bush, Bronski Beat, and Prince, and remains popular in modern productions by Blood Orange, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Dua Lipa.

Producers use non-linear reverbs for unique textures and dynamic changes, offering more control over the reverb tail for effects like gated reverb. This keeps tracks punchy and clear without long, muddy tails.

GateVerb features comprehensive reverb controls including Density, Time, Colour, Size, and Retro settings. It also offers ducking with sidechaining and allows pre-delay and time parameters to sync with your DAW's tempo.

Comprehensive Reverb Control

With Density, Time, Color, Size and special all-in-one Wet/Dry blend, users can easily adjust to any balance of both wet and dry signals simultaneously from a single control, change the size of the room, control how quickly early reflections are absorbed, alter the harmonic colour of the reflections, and determine the reverb decay time.

Ducking with Sidechaining

Essential for maintaining vocal or instrumental prominence in dense mixes or complex audio scenarios, this feature allows you to apply gain reduction based on an internal or external sidechain signals.

Pre-Delay

With GateVerb's Pre-Delay functionality, users can introduce a delay between the dry signal and the onset of the reverb, which allows for greater control over the reverb's impact, creating a sense of depth and dimension.

Lo-Fi Controls

GateVerb's Lo-Fi controls allows users to create mixes that stand out with unique, retro vibes. By degrading the signal with the Lo-Fi control, users can achieve a vintage effect that adds character and texture to their audio.

Time-Sync'd Decay

Decay time can be synced to the tempo of the track, ensuring rhythmic consistency. This feature is particularly useful in music production where timing precision is crucial, such as in electronic music.

Mix Lock

Mix Lock allows users to lock the mix control during preset changes, so that they can maintain their previously used settings. This is especially useful for live performance or when switching between different sounds quickly.

Recreate that instantly recognisable non-linear reverb

From classic 80s tracks including ‘In The Air Tonight’ (Phil Collins) and  ‘Kiss’ (Prince) and more modern productions such as ‘You’re Not Good Enough’ (Blood Orange) and ‘Lost In Your Light feat. Miguel (Dua Lipa).

Expensive but you get the true SSL take on this affect. People on the internet talk a lot of rubbish. Nobody else actually does this, the right way. It's not just a gate on an IR. I'd like a dry/wet lock.
