Virtual Grand Piano authorized by Fazioli
Gran Coda is a unique technique for developing a digital grand piano. For the first time, Fazioli Pianoforti (Sacile, Italy), the manufacturer, and a virtual instrument were combined to produce a new product. The piano was set up by experts from the Fazioli Concert Hall in Sacile, where Gran Coda was recorded. The Fazioli Concert Hall's resident grand piano, a model F278 that was chosen, was introduced in 2005 by renowned Italian musician Aldo Ciccolini. In order to recreate the pianist's position within the Fazioli Concert Hall, Paolo Principi recorded it using three different microphone positions: close (often utilized in jazz and pop productions), side (for classical music), and binaural. Inside Fazioli facilities, technicians tested and approved the virtual instrument. For these reasons Gran Coda is the only Virtual Piano authorized by Fazioli.
