The Soul of the Ondes Martenot, Reimagined
In 1928, Maurice Martenot unveiled the Ondes Martenot, merging touch with tone like never before. Nearly a century later, Ondes carries that spirit forward, expanding sonic possibilities through acoustic resonance and ultrasonic sampling.
Created by Bigano, MNTRA Instruments, and Daniel Áñez, Ondes uses MNDALA’s architecture for organic, responsive performance - every touch becomes a conversation with sound. Recorded in Northern Quebec at 32-bit 384kHz, performances through gongs and custom amps reveal textures hidden in conventional recordings.
Ondes pushes physical synthesis into the ultrasonic range. SSM and non-linear reactivity transform each note, making the recordings themselves playable and alive.
Ondes features expressive presets - from intimate whispers to cosmic drones, glissandi, resonant gongs, and textured noise -that evolve with your playing. It bridges electronic and acoustic, vintage and modern, human and machine.
