Pianoverse instrument based on a Yamaha C7
The Grand Piano Y7 is a virtual instrument based on a Yamaha C7, crafted in the late ’80s at Yamaha’s Hamamatsu factory. As the second-largest in Yamaha’s high-performance C series, it offers powerful projection, tonal clarity, and nuanced expressiveness - perfect for both concert halls and studios.
The C7 was chromatically sampled after expert tuning, using IK’s robot-assisted technology for precise sound capture, including Round Robin samples and key/pedal noise for realism.
Recorded at the legendary Fonoprint Studios in Bologna, Italy - famous for hosting artists like Bocelli and Morricone - the Y7 was miked with DPA cardioids and Coles ribbon mics in the Blumlein technique for exceptional sound quality.
The result is a hyper-realistic virtual piano, enhanced by Pianoverse’s cinematic effects, offering endless creative possibilities.
