A radically different sound generation
RayBlaster 3.5 unveils a dimension of sounds previously unattainable with other synthesizers. The Impulse Modeling Synthesis represents a fundamentally different approach to sound design.
Instead of traditional oscillator and filter structures, RayBlaster uses a convolution-based method called Impulse Modeling Synthesis (IMS). Short impulse fragments are layered and processed into complex, highly musical sounds with exceptional clarity and movement.
The result is a sonic universe defined by precision, depth and expressive character, distinct from conventional synthesis approaches.

What is Impulse Modeling Synthesis?
Impulse Modeling Synthesis (IMS) is a convolution-based approach that constructs sound from short impulse responses instead of traditional waveforms.
These impulses are layered, analyzed and dynamically processed to form complex sonic structures with high stability and musical depth. The method avoids typical detuning artifacts and enables detailed and expressive sound design.
Sounds
RayBlaster 3.5 includes a factory library of over 1,100 presets covering arpeggios, rhythmic textures, vocals and cinematic soundscapes. The content is organized into clearly defined categories for efficient navigation and workflow. An additional 50 presets are integrated into the existing library structure.
Modulation
RayBlaster 3.5 provides a flexible modulation system with drag & drop routing and a deep modulation matrix. Almost all parameters can be modulated at audio rate using LFOs, envelopes, step sequencers and MIDI sources. MIDI Learn is available via right-click assignment for fast controller mapping.
Effects
RayBlaster 3.5 features 44 stereo effects with defined processing characteristics and extensive routing options. Reverb types include Ultra, Big, Infinite, Trance, Band and Glass, designed for spatial depth and tonal density. Delay-based effects such as Delay, PingPong, MultiTap, Band and Diffuse operate with reduced detuning behavior. EQ processing uses 64-bit coefficient calculation for higher precision, while selected modes follow a smoother upper-midrange response. Per-voice distortion is integrated into the synthesis engine, and the overall effects chain maintains consistent stereo depth and clarity across all modules.
Waveforms, Samples & Resynthesis
RayBlaster 3.5 supports the import of external waveforms and filter characteristics, real-time waveform morphing and resynthesis of short audio material such as vocals, loops and drums. Tempo-synced control allows flexible manipulation of pitch, timing and timbre.
