The Drum Factory SDX - Engineered by Sylvia Massy
The Drum Factory SDX is a sound library expansion for Superior Drummer 3, recorded and produced by legendary audio engineer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System of a Down, Sevendust, Prince, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chili Peppers and more). Together with drummer Norman Garschke and assisted by Grammy Award winner Ian Rickard, this exceptional SDX was created at the world-famous La Fabrique Studios in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, filled with character, energy and creative inspiration.
Known for her experimental recording approach, whether using a garden hose as a sound conductor, a telephone receiver as a microphone or a baby monitor as an effect source, Sylvia Massy once again captures the spirit of unconventional sound design. Recorded in four acoustically distinct rooms (Dark Room, Mill, Arcades and Library), The Drum Factory SDX delivers seven complete drum kits that authentically cover everything from raw rock to detailed metal.
The SDX includes a total of 16 bass drums, 14 snares, 30 toms, 4 hi-hats, 4 rides, 9 crash cymbals, 5 splashes, 2 chinas, 1 bell, 1 stack, 1 side snare and 4 octobans, all sampled with sticks and in stunning detail. It also features 43 mix-ready presets created by Sylvia Massy herself and 32 additional presets from Toontrack, offering different microphone combinations, saturation levels and layers of Sylvia’s own one-shot samples.
Numerous additional microphone signals, such as those captured through modified baby monitors, garden hoses, water bottles, telephones or cassette recorders, open up completely new possibilities for sound design. The SDX also includes a large collection of genre-specific MIDI grooves and performances inspired by some of Sylvia Massy’s legendary productions.
The result is an inspiring, energetic drum experience that invites you to rethink sound in a raw, experimental and highly characterful way. Perfect for rock, metal and everything in between.

For the full Installation of this product you will need approximately 141 GB of free hard drive space, plus an additional 161 GB is required for the installation process.
