The JEN SX1000 reimagined
SX1000 is a faithful emulation of the JEN SX1000, a vintage Italian synthesizer released in 1978 and one of the first affordable analog instruments widely available in Europe. Designed for musicians who wanted hands on control without prohibitive costs, it played a key role in bringing analog synthesis to a broader audience.
At its core, SX1000 recreates the original monophonic architecture and the sound of the M110 chip, while carefully expanding the instrument beyond its historical limitations. Additions such as a full polyphonic mode, a sub oscillator reaching down to minus three octaves, extended legato and velocity controls, a classic arpeggiator, and four flexible effects open up a much wider sonic range, without losing the distinctive organic character of the original.
