Soviet Wire Recorder Echo
Turn the echoes of the past into the music of now. Developed with German composer and YouTuber Hainbach, this plugin faithfully models a rare 1970s Soviet wire recorder originally built for military and secret service use behind the Iron Curtain. Once a ghostly lo fi tool for avant garde musicians, it is now reborn as a modern and musical echo machine.
Every idiosyncrasy of the original MN61 unit has been carefully captured. The hair thin magnetic wire and vacuum tube output stage deliver a texture unlike tape, reacting dynamically to your input with haunting, unstable charm. Use it as a fixed tempo echo on an aux channel, explore variable time options, or disable the authentic noise floor while preserving its vivid character.
