After Saxophone and Bass, now guitars becomes part of the Liquid concept. If you already own other L.I.S. products, simply copy the samples into the content-folder. Otherwise, L.I.S. Guitar can also be installed as a regular plug-in.
The guitar licks are separated into two genres: "Acoustic" and "electric". In the smaller "acoustic" section you´ll find relatively neutral riffs, some with a slight Latin-, Folk- or R´n´B-touch. Liquids arpeggios and scale-licks tend to be in the way of traditional song-writing but you can manipulate them - thanks to the Liquid-technology.
The "electric" section is much bigger and is diverted into the two sub-sections "clean" and "distorted". "Clean" means that there is no distortion whatsoever, however the sounds were recorded over an amp and Wah and Tremolo were used as well, according to style. In this section, complex solo-lines take up most of the space, but there are also additional, simple phrases for background as well as rhythmical licks.
The diversity of genres is much larger than not only in the "acoustic" section, but also larger in comparison to the first two volumes of the L.I.S. products. Next to Funk, Disco and Fusion you´ll find much more material for different kinds of rock. Especially with the "distorted" riffs there is a lot of genre-expanding diversity. From warm, slightly distorted Blues-licks to groovey beats to thick and raw Hard´n´Heavy-lines, there is something for everyone in there. There were no additional EQs or compressors used which gives the user a lot of liberty in their on mixdown. Those who like working creatively with guitar-lines and appreciate the great samples as well as the flexible and easy-to-use playback-engine, will probably not do without L.I.S. Guitar.

With the help of the editing possibilities of Liquid you can change single notes out of a lick to create many different variations. Thus the content of the library is by far not the limitation of it but should be seen as a large basis for experimenting in the field of solo-guitar science.
In contrary to usual sample-libraries Liquid Guitar guarantees flexibility without loosing the quality of sound. Especially the sound of a guitar can be strecteched almost as much as you like without sounding unnatural and the pitchrange is by far higher than for example vocals.

Nach Saxofon und Bass halten nun Gitarren Einzug in das flüssige Konzept. Wenn bereits ein anderer L.I.S.-Titel vorhanden ist, kopiert man einfach die Samples in den Content-Folder. L.I.S.-Guitar kann ansonsten aber auch als eigenständiges PlugIn installiert werden.
Die Guitar-Licks sind in zwei Bereiche unterteilt:"Acoustic" und "Electric". In der kleineren "Acoustic"-Abteilung finden sich relativ neutrale Riffs, manchmal mit leichtem Latin-, Folk- oder Rhythm`n`Blues-Einschlag. Die Arpeggios und Scale-Licks tendieren eher zum traditionellen Songwriting, jedoch lässt sich -Liquid-Technologie-sei-Dank - noch so einiges zurechtbiegen.
Die "Electric"-Sektion ist größer und teilt sich in die Bereiche "Clean" und "Distorted". "Clean" besagt, dass hier keine Distortion zum Zuge kam, allerdings wurden die Sounds zumeist am Amp abgenommen sowie je nach Stil mit Tremolo und WahWah versehen. In dieser Sparte überwiegend komplexe Solo-Lines, zusätzlich gibt es einfache Phrasen für den Background und rhythmische Licks.
Die Genre-Bandbreite fällt nich nur im Vergleich zur "Acoustic"- Sektion, sondern auch zu den ersten beiden L.I.S.-Titeln ("Vol.1 Saxofone", "Vol.2 Electric Bass") größer aus. Neben Funk, Disco und Fusion gibt es deutlich mehr Material für die diversen Rock-Sparten. Bei den "Distorted-Riffs" spannt sich der Bogen besonders weit, von warm angezerrten Blues-Licks über fetzige Beats bis hin zu satten, röhrenden Hard´n´Heavy-Lines - hier kommt jeder auf seine Kosten. Auf nachträglich Soundbearbeitung mit EQ oder Kompressor wurde verzichtet, das bleibt dem User bei seinem eigenen Mixdown überlassen. Wer gerne kreativ mit Gitarren-Spuren arbeitet und die hervorragenden Samples sowie die flexible und einfach zu bedienende Playback-Engine zu schätzen weiß, wird um L.I.S.-Guitar wohl nicht herumkommen.

Liquid Guitar bietet eine gut sortierte und umfangreiche Bibliothek an akustischen und elektrischen Gitarrenlicks incl. verschiedener Spielweisen.
Die meisten Licks der Gitarrenbibliothek wurden von Kai Reuter eingespielt. Kai Reuter gilt als Virtuose mit breitgefächertem Repertoire an Spieltechniken; die Library bezeugt dies auf beeindruckende Weise. Von getragenen Melodien bis hin zu rasend schnellen Riffs a la Al Di Meola ist alles dabei, was das Herz begehrt. Zum Einsatz kamen eine Fender Stratocaster, eine Rockinger Strat, eine Gibson ES 335, eine
Yamaha APX7 Acoustic Guitar und eine Steinberger mit Trans Trem (alle E-Gitarren mit EMG Pickups).
Auch die Liste der Amps liest sich wie eine Sammlung der amtlichen Legenden:
Fender Twin, JMP1 Marshal Pre-Amp, Mesa Boogie Triple Rectifire, VOX AC30, Rivera Bonehead, abgenommen mit Sennheiser E609 und Audio-Technica AT4040 Mikrophonen.
Die Jazz-Guitars wurden von Andreas Jäger auf einer Epiphone Imperial Regent Guitar eingespielt, die Funk-Abteilung, die von dem Ueberschall VLP-120 VI übernommen wurde, von Jörg Putzig.

Mit der gezielten Bearbeitung einzelner Noten kann man aus einem Lick eine Vielzahl von Variationen erstellen, so dass der Inhalt der Library bei weitem nicht das Maximum an Vielseitigkeit darstellt, sondern eher als breitgefächerte Ausgangsbasis für ausgedehnte Forschungen auf dem Gebiet der Gitarrensoli verstanden werden sollte.
Im Gegensatz zu herkömmlichen Sample-Libraries garantiert die in Liquid Guitar eingebaute Melodyne-Engine ein Höchstmaß an Flexibilität ohne Verlust an Klangqualität. Gerade Gitarrensounds lassen sich beinahe beliebig stretchen ohne unnatürlich zu klingen – der „Verbiegungsspielraum“ reicht hier bei weitem über das hinaus, was man z.B. mit Vocals machen kann.
