9. Do we collect and use data from your personal devices (cookies and tracking)? No!!

Many websites use technical tools for various functions, in particular cookies, which can be stored on your end device. Cookies are text files or information in a database that are stored on your hard drive and assigned to the browser you are using so that certain information can flow to the entity that sets the cookie. Cookies cannot execute programs or transfer viruses to your computer, but are primarily used to make the Internet services and experience faster and more user-friendly.

However, we do not use any cookies or collect any tracking information on our website.

10. Use of embedded Youtube videos

This website contains at least one plugin from YouTube, belonging to Google Inc. based in San Bruno/California, USA.

We use the YouTube function No-Cookies, i.e. we have activated Enhanced Privacy, videos are not accessed via youtube.com, but via youtube-nocookie.com.

YouTube itself provides this and thus ensures that YouTube does not initially store any cookies on your device. However, when the relevant pages are accessed, the IP address and the specific individual page accessed are transmitted to Google. However, this information cannot be assigned to you if you are not permanently logged in to YouTube or another Google service when you access the page.

Once you start playback of an embedded video through Play, YouTube only stores cookies on your device through the enhanced privacy mode, which do not contain any personally identifiable data unless you are currently logged in to a Google service. These cookies can be prevented by certain browser settings and extensions.

11. Matomo web analytics

We use the open source software Matomo on our website to analyze the surfing behavior of our visitors. If individual pages of our website are accessed, we store the following data:

  • 2 bytes of the IP address of the user's accessing system
  • The requested web page
  • The web page from which the user has reached the accessed web page (referrer)
  • The subpages that are accessed from the requested web page
  • The duration of visit on the website
  • The frequency with which the website is accessed

The software runs exclusively on the servers of our website. This data is only stored there. The data is not passed on to third parties. The software is set in such a way that the IP addresses are not stored in full, but the last bytes of the IP address are masked (e.g.: 192.168.xxx.xxx). In this way, an allocation of the shortened IP address to the calling computer is no longer possible.

The legal basis for the processing of the users' personal data is art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f GDPR.

The processing of this personal data enables us to analyze the surfing behavior of our users. By evaluating the data obtained, we are able to compile information about the use of the individual components of our website. This helps us to continuously improve our website and its usability. In these purposes also lies our legitimate interest in the processing of the data according to art. 6 paragraph 1 lit. f GDPR. By anonymizing the IP address, the interest of users in the protection of their personal data is sufficiently taken into account.

We offer our website visitors the possibility of opting out of the analysis process. In this way, a cookie is set on their system, which signals to our system not to store the user's data. If you delete the corresponding cookie from your own system in the meantime, you must set the opt-out cookie again.
