Vari-Mu Tube Compressor and Limiter
The BA-6A is a Vari-Mu tube compressor and limiting amplifier based on a three-stage amplifier design. Its fast attack, medium release and hard-knee compression are suited to vocals, guitars, basses, kicks and snares. The circuit provides high gain and adds harmonic distortion, contributing to a fat, gritty character. Originally designed for TV and broadcasting, the hardware unit used nine valves, a rectifier and a voltage regulator, all of which are emulated in the BA-6A.
