Five algorithms for cleaner drum recordings
MDrumCleaner is designed to reduce unwanted bleed in drum recordings, such as hi-hat in a snare microphone or cymbals in tom microphones. It combines five algorithms that can be used individually or together: Cymbal Killer, Side-chain Remover, Spectrum Cleaner, Spectrum Gate and Gate. Two of the algorithms can also be used live. The spectral modules can analyse the recorded drum signal or its frequency content to distinguish the intended sound from unwanted bleed, while the gate provides conventional dynamic separation.
