MF-108S Cluster Flux

Re-invention of Moog Music’s classic MF-108 analog effects pedal

The MF-108 Cluster Flux, originally introduced in 2011, contained several complete modular synth functions: a dual-range Bucket Brigade Device (BBD) delay line designed for very short delay times and a multi-waveform Low Frequency Oscillator (LFO) capable of modulating the delay line for a variety of effects including Chorus, Flanging, and Vibrato. A direct descendant of the original Moog modular synthesizers, the MF-108 was adapted to process, modulate, and play with inputs ranging from guitar, voice, and synthesizer to any imaginable audio source.

The MF-108 Cluster Flux has been meticulously recreated as the MF-108S, capturing not only the subtle swirling and intense flanging sounds of the original, but also the organic way in which the parameters interact to create a musical playing experience. With CV interconnectivity, stereo functionality, an extended feature set, the ability to run multiple instances, and presets, the MF-108S plug-in further tailors the classic Moogerfooger functionality to the modern digital creator.

The MF-108S also offers unique features not found on the hardware instrument, including:

• TYPE switches between normal stereo ECHO with equal delay time in each channel or a PING-PONG bouncing stereo image delay.

• TONE affects the EQ, filtering and roughness of the delayed audio signal with Legacy, Analog and Modern settings.

• TIMING can preserve tight digital timing or add loose timing instabilities.

• OUT OF PHASE allows numerous stereo routings, splits DRY and WET signals in the stereo field, and creates phase-inverted outputs for deeper stereo imaging.

• The MF-108S provides CV inputs for Delay Time, Feedback, LFO Rate, LFO Amount, and Mix, as well as the ability to attenuate or attenuate these modulations.
