Low Frequency Generator
The concept behind SubMassive is that "you can't equalize what isn't present." Similar to how harmonic exciters can be employed to create high frequencies for sounds lacking them, SubMassive can generate low frequencies that are absent in the source material.
SubMassive achieves this by synthesizing low-frequency audio one octave below the source audio, utilizing a high-quality pitch shift algorithm specifically optimized for low frequencies. The plugin utilizes audio information above the "Fill Below" threshold to generate audio content below this threshold, imparting "weight" to the source signal. Consequently, the newly created low frequencies harmonically align with the source audio and maintain tight coupling in transient accuracy.
The resulting Low-Frequency Effect (LFE) signal can be further adjusted to precede or follow the source signal, enabling unique sound modifications.
SubMassive can be used to:
- Create super-huge low end in EDM mixes
- Add "mass" to kick drums, snare drums and toms
- Fatten lead vocals, bass and guitars
- Generate an LFE channel for post-production video
- Modify sounds using low end time shift effects
