All-around modular software synthesizer

SynthMaster 3 is KV331 Audio's flagship all-around modular software synthesizer available in VST2, VST3, AudioUnits and AAX formats. It features many different synthesis methods including VAnalog, Additive, Vector, Wavetable, Granular, Phase Modulation, Phase Distortion, Frequency Modulation, Pulse Width Modulation, Ring Modulation, Physical Modeling and SFZ Sample Playback. It can read SynthMaster One and SynthMaster 2 presets, and comes with 850 new factory presets designed by a world class team of sound designers: Arksun, Aiyn Zahev, BigTone, Cipryan Bot, Davide Puxeddu, Demis Hellen, Gercek Dorman, NatLife, Nori Ubukata, Selcuk Ergen, Xenos Soundworks, XTD and Yuli Yolo.

Modular Architecture

Each SynthMaster 3 instance supports up to 16 layers, with each layer containing up to 16 modules. Available modules include:

• Generator Modules: Basic Oscillator, Additive Oscillator, Vector Oscillator, Wavetable Oscillator, VAnalog Oscillator, Granular Oscillator, and Modulator.

• Effect Modules: Digital Filter, VAnalog Filter, State Variable Filter, Ladder Filter, Diode Ladder Filter, Bite Filter, Comb Filter, Phaser Filter, Formant Filter, and Waveshaper.

Up to 32 modulation sources can be assigned per layer, including ADSR Envelope, Multistage Envelope, LFO, Step LFO, Noise LFO, and Scaler.

The Routing tab offers a visual signal flow representation, enabling users to manage modules and connections.

Multiple View Types

SynthMaster 3 offers three views for layer parameter editing:

• Layer View: Edits single layer parameters.

• Track View: Manages keyboard zones, velocity zones, and sequencing.

• Mix View: Adjusts insert FX and FX sends.

Granular Oscillator

This oscillator applies granular synthesis to a sample, with up to 16 voices and 32 grains per voice. Parameters like volume, pan, detune, and grain settings can be randomized.

VAnalog Oscillator

Simulates analog circuits using curve segments, with up to 16 voices and customizable waveforms. It includes morphing between wave shapes and a sub oscillator.

Waveshaper

This effect offers various distortion algorithms, from soft to heavy, and includes a custom mode for user-drawn distortion curves.

Phaser Filter

A polyphonic effect, mixing multiple allpass filters with input for phasing effects.

Formant Filter

Creates vowel sounds by morphing between selected formants.

Noise LFO

Generates different noise types (white, pink, brown, etc.) and applies sampling and bit reduction for unique modulation effects.

Scaler

An enhanced modulation source, allowing selection of input sources and functioning as a waveshaper.

Arpeggiator / Sequencer

Each layer has its own arpeggiator and sequencer, allowing randomization for trigger, hold, and slide parameters. MIDI routing options are provided.

Preset Browser

SynthMaster 3’s preset browser offers advanced filtering and backwards compatibility with SynthMaster One and 2 presets. Instant previews are available for NKS-supported presets.

Waveform Editor

This editor allows the creation of single-cycle waveforms either through curve segments or freehand drawing, with spectral editing available.

Wavetable Editor

Create and edit wavetables using single-cycle waveforms or samples. It includes seven wavetable effects for further customization and export options in WAV or SynthMaster 3's format.

Multi-Sample Editor

Multi-samples are created by importing WAV/AIFF files. Automatic import reads root notes from file headers, and exports are available in SFZ format.
