Detect Keys, Scales, and Matching Chords

TONIC 2 analyzes audio and MIDI signals to detect their key and scale in real time. The plugin displays up to three possible matches with percentage probabilities and helps you find compatible notes, chords, and harmonies for samples, loops, remixes, and original song ideas.

TONIC 2 can be inserted directly on an audio or MIDI track or used to analyze audio files offline via drag and drop. The virtual keyboard then displays notes and chords that match the selected scale.

From Analysis to Composition

Fold Keys mode maps only the notes of the selected scale to the white keys of a MIDI keyboard. In Chord mode, matching chords can be played, auditioned, and dragged directly into the DAW as MIDI clips.

MIDI input and output also allow compatible notes and chords to control external instruments. A dedicated tuning display shows deviations from A = 440 Hz in cents and Hertz.
