If you’re chasing the true soul of drumming, there’s no way around New Orleans. This is where the drum set was born, where jazz and funk shaped their sound, and where rhythm is more than music – it’s a living pulse, formed over centuries by African, Caribbean, French, and Creole traditions. This unmistakable groove has been captured in the New Orleans EZX.
Under the guidance of Terence Higgins (Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, Dirty Dozen Brass Band), a comprehensive drum library was created, recorded by the multi-award-winning engineer Misha Kachkachishvili at the legendary Esplanade Studios in the heart of the Tremé neighborhood. In this 14,000-square-foot studio with impressive 26-foot-high ceilings, historical authenticity meets modern recording quality.
The EZX includes two separate libraries – Traditional and Artist – each featuring handpicked instruments by Terence Higgins.

Traditional: Historic kits, including a century-old set from the New Orleans Jazz Museum, rare crash and “sock” cymbals, additional bass drums, antique snares, and classic percussion such as washboard, cowbells, bottle, pandeiro, and a handmade “junk” hi-hat.

Artist: More modern kits inspired by sounds from the 1950s onward, ideal for contemporary funk, soul, and street beats.
Additionally, it includes a collection of mix-ready presets and an exclusive MIDI library of grooves and fills performed by Terence Higgins, so you can start producing right away – whether traditional jazz, second-line parade rhythms, or modern funk beats.
